As The days End comparison

The main cast of a comic - As The Days End - I was really set on doing for a while... and still am, sort of. From left to right the characters are Patricia, Eos, Edward, Conan and Lynn (Or Lyn I haven't decided yet).

The first picture is from 2009, aka when I was a junior, and the picture below I just finished recently. Though it's obvious the second picture is of a higher quality, honestly I can't say I like one more then the other. Edward, specially, gave me the most trouble the second time. The first time around he was the first one I drew and all the other characters fell into place afterward. When I was redrawing Edward was still first down, but as all the other characters came in their focus on him was really just... creepy. I was able to take some of that out during inking, but I prefer the lightheartedness of the top drawing.

There was a bit of redesigning when I redid this, mostly just making them look more mature, but Edward - AGAIN, damn him - doesn't look how I would like him with this new build ...He's supposed to be a scrawny jerk.

One thing I do like more in the second picture is the fact they are all touching. The cast of ATDE is small and so I really wanted to emphasize how much they all mean to each other. Another thing I like is that between the two of these pictures, you can probably get a good look at each character's personality.

Still, not completely happy with either of these drawings, but maybe in two more years I can try it all again.
